January 8^th

James Owen will visit 5^th – 7^th graders with us at St. Mary and All Angels and Newport Elementary.  His second book in “The Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica” was released on January 1^st.  For those who enjoy a fantasy filled adventure series, you will love these books.  In addition to the writing, which incorporates legend, and myth with adventure, Mr. Owens illustrates some truly amazing pictures throughout the books.

January 24^th

Andrea Beaty will be visiting our Newport Hills location for a very special 11:00 am (please note the time) story time.  She will read both When Giants come to Play and her newly released Iggy Peck, Architect which was featured in Time Magazine as one of the best 10 children’s books of 2007!  It also received a Parent’s Choice Silver award 2007 and was featured on the Today Show Holiday Gift Guide.  Please join us for this very special event!

January 28^th

Duck for President!  Author / Illustrator Team, Doreen Cronin and Betsy Lewin will be with us all day on the 28^th!  We will be campaigning for votes for Duck at Lincoln Elementary, Andersen Elementary and Harbor Day School before bringing the campaign back to the Costa Mesa store for a 4:00 reading rally!  Do not miss this very special opportunity to see both author and illustrator of this very funny and timely re-released collaboration!  Please feel free to inquire about out Ms. President Patch package for Brownie and Daisy troops who attend the event as a troop! April 16th
